Playground Equipment

IS THE PLAYGROUND YOU BRING YOUR CHILD TO SAFE?

Playgrounds are where children have the chance to play outside using activities and games expressly designed for them. You can find them everywhere, at nurseries, schools, even inside shopping malls.

Managers of playground areas are responsible for the equipment safety, and they are responsible for the purchase, installation and maintenance of the equipment.

Technicians at ICQ are qualified and experienced in checking the state of maintenance and safety of playground equipments.

The next time you bring your child to a public playground, you should verify that:

  1. your child uses the proper equipment for his or her age: the age is often marked on the equipment, or posted in public areas.
  2. there is enough distance between the equipment so movement can be done safely.
  3. your child doesn’t climb on equipment with missing or broken parts, and inform people who take care of the playground about any irregularities.
  4. the ground around the equipment is soft, made of wood bark, potting compost, gravel or rubber and materials derived from it, and that it’s always carefully maintained.
  5. high equipment should offer suitable protection edges to prevent falls.
  6. there are no sharp points, or angles, or chipped woods on the entire surface of the equipment.
  7. in the playing area there are no dangers that can make your child stumble, like rocks, plant roots or equipment foundations.
  8. monitor closely your child’s activity while playing on the equipment: your full attention can increase safety.
  9. while your children are using the playground equipments, they should avoid wearing long scarves, sweaters with long drawstrings and accessories that can easily get entangled in the mobile parts of the equipments.

In case of inflatable equipment, verify that a specialized operator is always there when your child is playing.
